Lutheran Home in Southbury is looking for a Housekeeper/Porter. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to pick up a few shifts per week. We pay weekly!
PT and Per Diem (as needed) opportunities open.
Summary
Responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions and the environmental care of the facility.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing cleaning and sanitation functions where assigned within the facility.
- Responsible for maintaining record as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Use appropriate equipment, furnishings, and supplies when required.
- Assist in maintaining the inside of the building to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Adhere to established safety procedures.
- Assists staff and residents in emergency situations.
- Provides excellent customer service to all who interact with the program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma preferred.
- Ability to remain calm and handle emergencies appropriately.
- Must be able to lift push/pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must follow the facilities and the organizations policies and procedures.
- Must be about to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset people within the facility.
